Niniel and Glaurung
Niniel and Glaurung

This is one of the drawings I just had to do.
Don’t really like it.
But Glaurung looks kinda cute, don’t you think?

Beren and Luthien at Thangorodrim
Beren and Luthien at Thangorodrim

Well, here’s my non-dancing Lúthien.
The design resulted from the Glaurung and Morgoth drawings. I must say I like it.
But I like Beren’s wolf a bit more than the bat.
Sorry Lúthien.

Luthien
Luthien

And there she is again.
The last picture being too colourful for my taste, I did it again.
With less colour and more ornaments.
This way it feels more like my work.

.:. Mightiest and Fairest of all F-Elves .:. Of Lúthien Tinúviel

Luthien
Luthien

Lúthien, oh Lúthien.
I had a lot of problems with this one. Still have.
First of all I think Lúthien ist a bit overrated. Well, ok, she’s really a tough one, but most of the time all you see of her is she doing some dancing, more or less well dressed.

As you may have noticed my pictures are not really overflowing with dynamic motion. Also I’m not really good at depicting specific persons. I like to keep my persons nonspecific.

But Lúthien, ist Lúthien and no one else.
I struggled a bit,but in the end came up with a bold an simple, but dancing Lúthien with a oddly shaped face.

Gothmog and the F-Elf
Gothmog and the F-Elf

Well, I think this drawing is the godfather of this series.
Although I did not invent the whole f-elves … thingy, when I drew this one, it was the first time I used the phrase in reference to one of my drawings.

Glaurung
Glaurung

I didn’t make him golden. That seemed just too much.
I made him black, and I like him that way.
I also like the flames – and the mountain.

Aredhel Ar-Feiniel
Aredhel Ar-Feiniel

I wanted to do something new. Something completely different, yet still the same.
I like the way the colour concentrates around her and fades away to the right.
Do you see the looming figure in the dark?

Which version do you like better?

Of Gondolin
Of Gondolin

The hidden city. Surrounded on all sides by mountains.
And a lot of trees.

I like it. Although maybe there’s a bit too much of white space …
And it’s crooked, somehow.
